The throat chakra, also known in Sanskrit as "Vishuddhaa" chakra, is the 5th chakra and is located at the center of the neck at the level of the throat. It governs the mouth, tongue, neck, and shoulders. It is the passage of the energy between the lower parts of the body and the head. The function of the throat chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication. The throat chakra controls our expression of thoughts, ideas, and feelings, and our ability to communicate them to others and ourselves. This chakra is responsible for our internal and external dialog to effectively understand and express ourselves. The throat chakra works in conjunction with the sacral chakra (the chakra of creativity). When creativity and ideas are communicated correctly, they flourish and manifest into reality.
